Spring Break

The kids have had Spring break this week. We have gone no where and done nothing mainly because the littlest one has had Bronchitis and needed to rest. Hubby and I did get some photos taken on our many walks around the Ring road. The photos are huge and I need to make some smaller before I can post them.
Modena Park is in full Spring and I love all the blooming trees and flowers!

Spring

Spring has sprung in Vienna!! E went for a long ride on his Motorcycle on Saturday and the weather was perfect! Sunday we went to a friends house to introduce our dog Bob to their puppy Hoover. The intro went well after Bob lost his lunch from nerves. I think it was nerves from the Ubann ride!

Tuesday

Finished up my Celtic quilt top yesterday, of course still need to quilt it but for now it is stuck to the wall in my room! I really enjoyed this class, I learned a new method of pinning and also a new way to finish off thread when you are doing the quilting ( same as you do when hand quilting) I think that I will be making more of these, mainly as wall quilts as they look good hanging.

The ladies and I are finishing up our fabric postcards tomorrow including French onion soup and dessert. Girls have to eat, might as well be good food!

Weekend

Busy busy weekend! I and the girl child ( she is now 10) went to DM, Thalia and the pet store on Landstrasse. Then when we got home from that I and the hubby went and bought all the food at Spar ( well felt that way ) and then had to lug it all home. Saturday night food was home made pizza and I made a two layer Carrot cake for the girl childs birthday. Sunday was random, the boy child had a friend over to stay Saturday night so we had to feed them breakfast and can two teenage boys EAT! The girl child had a birthday party to go to out by IKEA north and we stopped and visited our friends and their new puppy. Still not sure what I like best puppy or kitty, maybe that is why I have one of each! We made a birthday dinner and had cake and open presents and then made cookies for the birthday girl to take to school today. I was wiped by Sunday night!

This is one of the quilting projects that I have been working on. This fabric is from a challenge that I bought but didn't do, I have since figure out that I don't do challenges well.

In other parts of my life I have been busy keeping busy. With the kids, the dog and the cat plus social activities with friends I manage to fill most of my days.

I am really enjoying my quilting class and will post photos when done

Fridays

Another exciting installation!

Normally on Fridays here in Vienna I am looking forward to the weekend. Eric is always home on the weekends and we do exciting things like make breakfast and go shopping. This weekend we are thinking of taking a drive up into the mountains so he can play more with his new camera.

Fridays also means that I do laundry, as the machines here in Europe are smaller and they can take FOREVER to get a load done! I miss my US machines.

Angel the cat has reverted to PreBob status. Meaning that she is pushy and demanding. Ah the life of MY cat!

Yeah I know I haven't been posting much but really have not been doing anything to interesting. Dealing with kids, hubby and pets takes most of my day.

Next week I am being brave and taking a Quilting class at the local quilt shop. The instructor does speak English so I hope it will work out. I just need to go and buy fabric.

Hubby has bought a new camera and so the photo quality here should go up as I'll be using his photos. I tend to use the point and shoot camera and my hand always moves!

I mailed it off yesterday. Yeah! Now to see when it gets there. Good thing I am not in a hurry and the POST was only 21 Euro. Perfect!


Off to the dentist again today :-( I received my bill from her this week, GULP guess I will not be vacationing for a while now.


I am meeting the new office lady from E's work today. She is a local person and promises to be of great help in dealing with all things Vienna.

Music

Hey,

Well listening to music makes me home sick. I think because I prefer to listen to Country music and I can't find a radio station here that carries it. So listening to music is something I try and do when I am feeling more positive rather than negative.

BD has an ear infection, I have known this for a while now but was hoping that it would go away on it own. Took him to the Vet today, she has this really cool machine that lets you, the human, see inside the ear. Cool looking. BD now has to have drops put in his ear for a week and then go back to see how the ear looks.

Stopped at the Mail Boxes Etc to see how much it would cost to send my Quit top to Canada to be quilted my my friend Kathy. GULP 170,oo Euro. YIKES! Then I found out that it was for two day service and they only do the fast ship option. Ok, went to the Post and asked then and they said 15 days and it wouldn't cost both arms and a leg. So the quilt top heads off this week. Can't wait to see how it looks all done :-)

My oldest is off having his SKI week that that the school sponsors. I have heard from him twice, once to say they arrived and once to say he is having a good time. Next time I hear from him should be Friday to say they are leaving. BOYS!

Another Tuesday

Tuesday, as I have said before, are normally my bad day. This Tuesday is OK. BD ( Bob Dog) had a thing on his back that is bleed and so on. I am treating it and will see how it goes before I take him to the vet. Eric is busy with Company big Whig meetings today and tomorrow. Poor man.

I have started walking at about 6:30 in the morning. I think it is a better time for me. We'll see how it goes.

Busy Week

Well Gas is now flowing from Russia to the West. It is a good thing! Been busy this week going to the Dentist ( Dang TMJ) and listening to the kids play Piano at school. Also went to school to have words with the Seventh Grade leader. The red-headed boy's math teacher was getting a bit overwheming. The math teacher doesn't like it when the kids have a cough or sneeze in class. HUH?!?! This is middle school in January almost everyone has/or have had a cold. Got it sorted out thank goodness. Hubby will be home from Slovakia today, says he is tired..

Bob the Dog

I have a cold. My lovely oldest child gave me my cold! Vienna got snow yesterday. Just enough to really make walking about interesting. Bob the dog likes it though. Went to the "Big" Kika with friends and bought a really cool basket. Almost done with my quilt... the one I started in 2005. :-)

Tuesdays are my Monday

Well as this Tuesday starts I hope it is better than Tuesdays in the past. Often Tuesdays are the day where everything goes wrong! Not always but most of the time. In my twisted little world Mondays are almost always good and I have tons of energy and am able to get tons done. Chris has a Cold this week, nothing like when your child is ill.

<--- Friends from Germany>


Spent most of last week in Germany visiting good friends of ours that live just outside of Cologne. We visiting Cologne, shopped and went to the Chocolate museum. We hiked around their little town and in general ate, slept and made merry!

The pets were well taken care of but Bob the dog thought for sure we had been gone for MONTHS! He also got a bath upon returning to the flat as he smelled very strongly of dog :-)

Went to the doctor as my foot has been bothering me for over a month, turns out I have a blood clot in my foot. Who would have thought!
