Christmas is over, New Years is around the corner. I am still homesick, in fact I am homesick now as much if not more than when we first moved to Arizona in '91. It is sooo time to move on from here.

Branches and such

A fews weeks ago I noticed that the Blumen store were selling branches, just bare branches. I thought about it a while and then remembered my good friend Claudia "forcing" branches at Easter. So I bought two bunches and brought them home. I pounded on the ends to open them up so they could drink lots of water ( also good for Stress reduction). I put them in a big water pitcher filled with warm water and set them on the table. For the first few weeks it looked like I had branches in the middle of my table. This week the buds started to green up. I was excited! I thought I would have brnaches cover in leaves, but it turns out I will have branches covered in FLOWERS!! The branches are, I think, Apple!
I am just starting Christmas cookies, only making two kinds. Snickerdoodles and Double chocolate.

The week of Christmas

Well I bagged up the kids' presents and took them out of the house and put them in the celler. They are acting like Aliens from Mars! I will give them back, Maybe?

I have going through alot of ups and downs while we decide if we stay or go back to the States in 2009. I want to go back summer of 2009. So many options!

Bob the dog is settling in ok. Nicole is training him with my help.

We will be here in Vienna for Christmas but in Germany for New years.

Christmas markets

The season of Christmas Markets is here in Vienna, I am excited. I can't wait to go shopping or at least looking at all the cool Austria Christmas things.
Yesterday I went to the Package delivery place with my slip that said I had a package. Took me 20 minutes walking only to be told that they no longer had my package and they didn't know where it was. The package was a care package from my friend in Germany. I am sure I will never see my package. On the stomp home I just wanted to go home to the Land of UPS delivery. I didn't tell Eric except as a side note of my day. I know the day is coming soon that I will be back in the Land of UPS.

Monday

Well one of the most interesting things I have learned about living here in Vienna. I don't like Apartment living. When we thought and planned to move here it was under the understanding that we would try Apartment living. Tried it don't like it! Our place it nice, but I miss having a yard and a basement. Private space is hard to come by and listening to the neighbors rattle around isn't my idea of fun. Lesson learned.

Today

Is the first day of the rest of my life.. Ok now let move on. Spent the day with the family looking at the country side to the North and West of Vienna Austria. Took a few amazing photos of the forest just past the leaf prime. The road was twisty there for a while and so Nicole threw up but then she felt better. Also took Bob the dog and that went ok.
